We’ve been frequenting Imagine That!, a large and never crowded Children’s Museum in NJ for probably 3 years now. We’re big fans and each visit seems to give us a unique experience. On this trip my 5 year old daughter and I brought my friend and her 4 year old daughter on a day school was closed. We didn’t want to deal with the crowds in NYC, and it was a bit cold so we drove the 45 minutes to Florham Park, NJ and found the perfect haven for our girls to spend the day.
The girls had a blast and trying so many different learning areas, like a grocery store, dance studio, vet clinic, dentist, art studio and of course many large climbing toys including a real firetruck and airplane. The space is huge, it’s a giant warehouse (16,000 square feet) that’s been sectioned off into 50 different learning areas where kids are encouraged to touch, pretend, and explore.
The museum has a cafe with a decent range of snacks and concession stand type foods, clean bathrooms and lots of private party space. It also has a nice gift shop. This museum is not a cutting edge dynamic experience like Brooklyn’s Children’s Museum, but we never have to fight over groceries or wait to try a station so in some ways the kids enjoy it more.
