I first fell in love with Rocking Horse Ranch when I visited it last winter. My 4 year old at the time was beginning to snow ski and it was our visit here where she mastered the confidence to go down hill while in control without us helping her.

Eager to return, we packed up our family, this time with my parents and a friend for Brooklyn, my now 5 year old daughter in tow. It was the end of the summer, and the perfect way to wrap it up before starting school the following week.

Rocking Horse Ranch provided the perfect retreat for each member of my family. Our ages ranged from 5 years old to 73 and we each found activities to enjoy and places to take in the beauty of the grounds and relax. It was so nice to spend time with my parents outside doing activities and seeing them enjoy watching their granddaughter try new things rather than our normal visits which tend to take place in my NYC apartment. During this trip my daughter and her grandparents were able to bond in a way that was really special and I’m sure it created memories we will all cherish for life.

As we do on many of our overnights, we packed as much on our arrival day as our departure day, maximizing the highest possible fun potential 🙂 We succeeded. We bounced on bungee trampolines, rode a banana boat several times, went horseback riding, swam in both indoor and outdoor pools, both with a slide, rode inflatable tubes down a track at night, roasted marshmallows, enjoyed a chocolate fountain for dessert..need I say more?

Oh, we also went fishing, played in a bouncy house and ball pit, climbed a rock wall, went mining for gems, shot bb guns, tried archery, saw exotic animals and won prizes in the arcade.

Rocking Horse Ranch holds a special place in my heart. From the minute you arrive you’re welcomed by happy employees who want you to have a great visit. Their activities change throughout the year, making it a place you can visit at any time. I look forward to my next trip!
