Last year my dear friend invited us to join her family for the day at Barton Orchards in Poughquag, NY, about an hour north of NYC. It ended up being a perfect day and one my daughter spoke about throughout the year. So this year when my friend picked the date to do it again we expanded our pack and went with a total of five NYC families. The more the merrier, right? None of us are related so I’ve found this to be true. We’ve all lived in NYC for a long time so you get us out in nature and honestly it doesn’t take much to impress us. But I have to say, these orchards are very impressionable! So are the slides, hay and corn mazes, bouncy houses, playgrounds, wooden milking cow, live music, tractor pulled cow train, hayrides, petting zoo, chain saw tree trunk caving artist…need I say more? Cuz there is more.
We all met at the farm, paid the $12 admission to access all the activities and tackled the fun to be had like it was our job.
We’ll definitely be doing this again next year, can’t wait.
